Welcome to our 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Shannon Estuary Way Retreat and Academy. With over 20 years of experience guiding Students on their yoga journey, I am delighted to invite you to this transformative program. Here, we weave together the gentle, healing energies of Yin and Restorative Yoga with the fluid, dynamic principles of Slow Vinyasa Flow Yoga.
This training is thoughtfully designed to ground you in asana practice, while also embracing the wisdom of Ayurveda, the nuances of Women’s Health, the breathwork of Pranayama, the vibrancy of Energy Medicine, and the sensitivity of Trauma-Informed Yoga and Somatic Breathwork. Our holistic approach ensures that you not only deepen your personal practice but also gain the skills to guide others with compassion and insight.
Our curriculum includes 180 contact hours, 80 hours dedicated to Yin and Restorative Yoga, complemented by 80 hours of Slow Flow, forming the solid asana foundation of your training. Building upon this, we offer specialized modules such as Breath Coach, Yoga and Women’s Health (or Soma Yoga Therapy for men), Energy Medicine, and Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. 15 hours of Yoga Anatomy and 20 hours of yoga philisophy

Curriculum
Slow Flow Foundations
Our training begins with two weekends dedicated to Yin and restorative yoga. Followed by Slow Flow, a therapeutic style inspired by slow-flow Vinyasa yoga. This practice serves as the Yang component of our Yin Fusion classes and lays the groundwork for modules in Ayurveda, Women’s Health, Breath Coach, Energy Medicine, and Heal.
Yin and Restorative
Embrace a serene winter wind down with our Yin and Restorative Yoga section. This part of the training provides comprehensive knowledge of these gentle practices and equips you to teach them effectively.
Ayurveda, TCM, and Women’s Health (for women)
Dive deeper into Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Ayurveda, focusing on female health. This module covers the stages of the menstrual cycle and menopause, offering valuable insights into women’s wellness.
Soma Yoga Therapy (for men)
For those not participating in the Women’s Health module, Soma Yoga Therapy is an excellent alternative. This training addresses postural dysfunctions, injuries, and joint issues through biotensegrity, Somatics, and gentle asana, complementing Yin Yoga beautifully.
Breath Coach
Explore the therapeutic aspects of pranayama in this module. It’s an incredible addition to your Yin and Restorative classes, enhancing your ability to guide others in breathwork.
Yoga Anatomy
Rosie McMahon has been studying anatomy for over twenty years, originally training to become an exercise and health fitness instructor and then to become a yoga teacher, massage therapist, anatomy teacher, and trainer educator. She combines all of her skills and experience to teach anatomy and physiology on Yoga Teacher Training courses internationally and runs her own online Anatomy and Physiology Applied to Yoga courses, and ITEC level Anatomy, physiology ,and Pathology for therapists.
Yoga Philosophy with Robbie
Robbie’s initial Yoga education came from two adept yogis in India and he has spent much time there since visiting various ashrams and Yoga schools to further deepen his understanding.
To date he has completed formal training in Ashtanga Yoga (India), Somatic & Embodied practices (Portugal), Yoga for Adolescents (London), Yin Yoga, anatomy specific courses under Benjamin Sears (USA) & the Functional Range Conditioning method with FRS.
Robbie continues to study Classical Non-Dual Tantric Philosophy especially drawing on the guidance of Christopher Wallis and draws upon this for his practice, worldview & teachings.
His classes are diverse, and explorative and always aim to deliver the student into a place of inquiry within their own body. Robbie aims to empower students.

Trauma-Informed Somatic Breathwork
This breathwork training focuses on the impact of trauma, promoting safe and holistic healing. It equips facilitators with the skills to handle trauma with empathy, sensitivity, and respect.
Energy Medicine
Delve into the energetics of chakras and vayus through Vini yoga style movement, pranayama, and mudras. This module offers a profound understanding of energy medicine.
Heal
Our Trauma-Sensitive Yoga module supports the recovery from trauma, depression, and grief, providing a compassionate approach to healing.
Business of Yoga
Additionally, you will receive 4 hours of business mentorship via Zoom, helping you navigate the professional aspects of your yoga journey.

Pre-requisite
To join this course, students should demonstrate a genuine passion and commitment to learning yoga and developing their practice. To qualify for a place on the accredited course, you must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- While a strong physical practice is not required, we recommend having at least two years of instruction under a yoga teacher or teachers.
- Be willing to discuss your practice history with us via phone or Zoom.

- Payments can be made via credit card, bank transfer, or other approved methods. A confirmation receipt will be sent upon payment.
Cancellation Policy:
- Cancellations made more than 30 days before the event will receive a full refund.
- Cancellations made 15-30 days before the event will receive a 50% refund.
- No refunds for cancellations made within 14 days of the event.
- No refunds on deposits made for trainings.

- Requests to modify bookings must be made in writing and are subject to availability.
- Changes made within 14 days of the event may incur additional fees.
