- Indian Head Massage also known as Shiro-Abhyanga is an ancient Ayurvedic healing treatment that has been practiced in India for thousands of years. It is a very relaxing treatment which is great for relieving stress and tension and also improves the condition of the hair and scalp. It works on the energy of the seven chakras to encourage healing and bring the body back into balance. It involves massaging points on the upper back, shoulders, upper arms, neck, scalp and face. This course also includes the Ayurvedic healing techniques of Marma point facial massage and Shirodhara. This course is suitable for anyone with an interest in Indian Head Massage. Non therapists will receive a non-practitioner certificate in Indian Head Massage. If you wish to practice on the general public you will need to be qualified in Anatomy and Physiology. If you have this qualification and wish to receive a practitioner certificate in Indian Head Massage you will need to complete one case study which involves giving one person a series of three treatments.
